| If you would like to volunteer...... |
| We welcome
new volunteers! If
you have extra time, we need help with the
following: |
 |
Transporting dogs out of the
shelters, and to and from our Vet's office in Bradenton. |
 |
Transporting dogs
along these routes in Florida: I-4, I-75, I-95, and the
Florida Turnpike. If you travel any one of these
routes, and can transport one or more dogs please contact us.
We will supply the crates you need, and meet you along the way.
You don't need to transport a van filled with dogs as you see in the photos
to the right. Transporting only 1 or 2 dogs helps us a
great deal. |
 |
Helping us with baths and processing
dogs when we get a large transport. The last transport
from the panhandle to Bradenton totaled 24 dogs. We needed
to get these dogs cleaned up, organize the shelter paperwork,
and get them to our vet. After vetting, they all needed
rides to their foster homes. Most of this work is done on
the weekend or in the evening. |
 |
Following up on our applicants to
discuss our dogs to find the perfect match. Not every
applicant is PC savvy. Some of our applicants are more
comfortable discussing things over the phone than in an e-mail. |
 |
Calling the Vet references on the
applications. |
 |
If you are good on the PC, we need
help entering medical data on all new UnderDogs. We have a
database to keep track of all shots and medical procedures for
each dog. |
 |
Fostering. Let us know if you
can foster a dog. Just by taking 1 dog makes a difference. You have a choice in the breed and size of
the dog you want to foster.
Contact us if you are interested in
fostering. |
 |
Grooming. Many of the shelter dogs are so neglected they
need to be shaved down completely. Most of the Shih Tzu,
Pekingese, and Poodles we rescue have never been groomed. We
welcome new volunteers who can donate their grooming skills. |
